Aim of the journal:

Resolution and Discovery is an open access, peer-reviewed journal covering all kinds of microscopy in materials science and in life sciences, new developments on instrumentation and microscopy techniques. The journal provides a forum for the publication of original research papers of the following subject areas: structure and imaging of biomolecules and live cells; multidisciplinary approaches; materials for nanotechnology, metal alloys and intermetallics, ceramics, composites, minerals; scanning probe microscopy, 3D imaging and tomography.

Within life sciences: structure and imaging of biomolecules, live cell imaging, neurobiology, multidisciplinary approaches in biology and medicine, microscopic applications in plants, microorganisms and environmental sciences, super-resolution microscopy in biological sciences.

Within materials science: materials for nanotechnology, metal alloys and intermetallics, ceramics, composites, minerals, microscopy in cultural heritage, films, coatings, surfaces and interfaces, carbon based materials, semiconductors and magnetic materials.
